Saw It On Pinterest...Almost Nailed It

I saw this on Pinterest before Christmas and thought it was cute. So I got under the sink in the cabinet and found three vases......not a really great choice and I will tell you why...all that mattered is that they were going to be trash to treasure and not cost a cent.

The glass containers should probably have had straight up and down.  It was a real challenge to get them straight across (which I didn't do very well) and then there is all the excess vinyl that I have no idea what to do with. The  shepherds and sheep went on fine.  I cut the Wise Men and camel out and placed them separately.  And then the manger scene...what a challenge.  Because it is on an angle and curved, there is lots of excess.  I just smooched it all together...made it look real rustic.  Thank heavens you can really see it in the pic or if you stand back.  Come Christmas I will fill them about a third of the way with regular salt and add a thick while candle.  I'm liking it!  Next time I make them I am going to use empty pickles jars from the fridge.  Already have one in the wings waiting.  I got the vinyl Nativity cutouts off Etsy (click and I will take you there).

I can imagine that you are cracking up...thinking 'are these people crazy!' You won't be the first to think that. Let us know what you thought was a really cool idea...and maybe share some of your own ideas...where do you think we come up with all this cool stuff?
