Old Windows

. Sunday, April 18, 2010 .
My nephew and his wife moved into their first house last year. A really cute house with wood floors arched doorways and glass doorknobs. They decided to replace the old drafty wooden windows. Someone suggested, or Tyler thought that his Aunt Jan might like to have those windows. Yea Baby! I was so excited to get them because I knew just what I (we) could make out of them. So today in trying to get the yard ready for Sarah's graduation party in about a month, Mark and I made our very first hot house.

Sometimes our minds just aren't on the same wave length but today we were in the same groove. We got it finished rather quickly and we didn't kill each other. I'm not going to lie, there might have been just a few 'discussions'. Mark is trying to get me to paint and distress it but I think the weather will do all the work for me. We haven't quite figured out the best place for it but I know it will go in the way back flower bed...it is the biggest bed and you will be able to see the house the minute your drive to the top of the driveway. I love it, love it, love it! Now what to do with the rest of the windows.....

  1. Awww, my windows! For the unused ones, you could put mirror panels in them and an old board on the bottom for a sil. You can hang it on the wall! If you end up making these, I want one : )

  2. We will put that on the list of Things To Do...good idea. We have windows hanging inthe house on the wall but no mirrors behind them. Hmmmmm

  3. What a cool looking hothouse, if I can say cool about something hot. Great upcycling too.

I can imagine that you are cracking up...thinking 'are these people crazy!' You won't be the first to think that. Let us know what you thought was a really cool idea...and maybe share some of your own ideas...where do you think we come up with all this cool stuff?
